OUR CORE VALUES
1. Worship is our highest calling.
We were made to worship. We exist to bring glory and honor to God, because He is worthy of everything we have to give. Though it is a vital piece, our worship extends far beyond musical praise and incorporates every aspect of our life. In light of the life-transforming message of the Gospel, we worship God by joyfully and generously giving our time, our treasure, and our talents to Him. (Colossians 3:16-17)
2. Prayer is our first response.
Prayer precedes all of our efforts. Before we get busy doing, we will always start by praying. We don't want to go anywhere that God is not leading and going before us. While our strength and vision are limited, God's power and wisdom is limitless. Therefore, we will never forget that our potential for impact comes only through prayer. We pray like everything depends on God, because it does. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
3. Reaching people is our mission.
Because of the Gospel, no one is too far gone. The broken can be restored and hope can be found in any situation. We give our lives to carrying out the mission that Jesus gave us - pointing people to God and making disciples near and far. Our eyes must always be open to those who haven't yet heard and come home. We lay down our preferences to reach our city and world. (Matthew 28:19-20)
4. Community is our DNA.
We were created for community by a communal God. Because of this, there is an intrinsic need for authentic, life-impacting relationships within each of us. While our sin seeks to draw us toward isolation, we choose to cherish and intentionally cultivate life-giving community. We refuse to lose sight of relationships and people in the midst of our programs. (Genesis 1:26,27; 2:18)
5. Leadership is our legacy.
We empower leaders to equip people. In His wisdom, God has granted every believer gifts to serve His Church. The responsibility of Broadfording's leaders is to develop mature disciples of Jesus who can lead, serve, and minister effectively. Our goal is to tap into people's full potential in order to change the world while passing our faith on to the next generation of world-changers. (Ephesians 4:11-13)
6. Teamwork is our commitment.
The Church is called to work together. We may be able to go faster alone, but we can go much further together. Though cooperation can be difficult, it is essential. We are willing to give credit away and work behind the scenes to see God's Kingdom expand. We are committed to cultivating partnerships with like-minded ministries for greater impact in our area and around the world. (1 Corinthians 12:20-27)
7. Creativity is our strategy.
The church ought to be the most creative place on the planet. The greatest message on earth deserves the greatest presentation. We refuse to be held back by tradition and will consistently deploy new strategies to reach the unreached. We are unsatisfied with the status quo and unwilling to be paralyzed by the fear of failure. We will innovate and remain flexible. (1 Corinthians 9:19-23)
